The Program:
This will be three packed days of supportive interaction among all of us. For more detailed information about The Balanced Pianist programs, please visit www.wellbalancedPianist.com.

Each full participant will experience:
1. Three 25-minute lessons
  • Each participant will be partnered with 2 or 3 other students, who will attend your lessons, and, if you choose, your practice.
  • You choose what to work on during your lesson.
  • Everyone is invited (urged even) to attend as many lessons as you can concentrate during, unless the student specifies otherwise.
2. One 2-hour clinic and group class on Basic Movements - from moving to the piano through playing each note, based on the Taubman Approach to Piano Technique. Teresa Dybvig will introduce these concepts and work with each participant, showing partners how to coach one another. Then we will break into partner groups so participants can practice together. There will be a variety of basic and progressively more complex material for people to work with during the clinic.
3. Presentation on Using Learning Styles in Practice and Teaching, based on Dunn and Dunn Learning Styles, with discussion about learning styles over lunch.
4. Mealtime discussions about mental attitude (using Performance Success, by Don Greene), learning styles, and goals.
5. One group class, on material of your choice.
6. One Works-in-Progress recital.
7. Two yoga classes by Yoga instructor Mary Samano, Co-Director of Oak Park Yoga.
